Chalk Wall Mural - Photo Week 2015

This year at CreativeLive's 2nd annual Photo Week, I was asked to make a mural to liven up the chalk wall that lives in the offices of the studio.

With chalk pen in hand I had creative freedom of the design and decided to go with potted plants. I figured something that is naturally still would be a better choice than an action scene.

Below are a few more angles and various stages of the drawing. Enjoy!

Sorry, no time lapse video for this one.

Blind Blind Tiger 2 Year Anniversary Party

One week from today, Blind Blind Tiger will be celebrating their 2 year anniversary!

They will also be celebrating, what would have been, Ryan Anderson's 31st birthday who passed away a little over a year ago. Proceeds to this event will go to The Brady Campaign to prevent gun violence. One thing I like about the Brady Campaign is their approach in educating the masses about gun safety as opposed to trying to rid the world of guns completely.

The location of the party is a pretty awesome place called Warehouse Acropolis in LA. It looks like a Pinterest board for "hip apartment" threw up into a big warehouse and added a shot of bourbon.

Lots of freebies and great music!!

Black and White and Red All Over

I recently decorated and painted the Podcast Room at CreativeLive's Seattle studio. Matt McMonagle and myself were asked to make the room sound great for podcasts as well as art up the walls a bit.

Here is what we created.

The books were purchased from Half Priced Books with their awesome "books by the yard" deal. We estimated we would need about 80 books and by the end of it had used exactly that.

The total project probably took about 10 hours over the course of 2 days.

Also, the great tunes were provided by Jamie Blake, whom we also work with. You can download the track on his bandcamp.
