What is Krewella's Biggest Mistake?

Well if Krewella doesn't choose this shirt, that would definitely be a huge mistake! Look how drippy and melty it is! No one would be able to resist.

I could use your help if you'd be so inclined. This shirt is in a contest to get created and your support would mean so much to me. Just click HERE and hit "Support Mike". Here is a video to hold you off until this design becomes a shirt! Enjoy

Thanks!

Why Dead Snow is One of the Greatest Horror Films of our Time.

I was a little reluctant to watch Dead Snow. Netflix had been shoving it into a couple of my suggestion lists with only a movie poster thumbnail and a brief description to to convince me. Looking at this poster, I anticipated the movie being a poorly written film by some independent film makers who received a small chunk of change to make a bloody zombie flick. The poster felt too comical and shoved the idea of "hey we like Evil Dead and you do too" down your throat. Lucky for me, I decided to hit play anyway and never looked back.

Here are my top 7 reasons why Dead Snow is an amazing horror film:

Did Stan Lee Make an X-Men Film in 1973?

What do you get when you cross 1970's blaxploitation films and Stan Lee? MAGNEGRO!

I let my love of blaxploitation films and superheroes fly with this newest art piece. If I were a producer I would make this movie a reality, but for now we just have to get by with the poster alone.

Here is Magnegro, our magnetic protagonist who's family has been run down by the man. Watch as he uses his abilities of controlling metal to seek revenge on the men who did him wrong. This time, opposites kick ass.

What Does Day Dreaming Look Like?

I was put to the task to make a visualization of the sounds and words from the track "Eye Dozed On" by Cej, from his album Sleepwalker in Paradise. I posted the album cover a while ago which I also created for him.

Enjoy this time lapse of myself creating his mixed media art piece.

Is Miley Cyrus' Wrecking Ball Music Video Making Young Kids Have Sex?

Of course it is! Thats rock 'n roll.... or pop 'n roll nowadays.

Anyway, The video was directed by Terry Richardson, and although I don't really like Richardson's attitude or his narcissism, I really liked the visuals of the music video.

Here is the video if you missed it.

This popped into my head when I watched it, and now it's available in my Society6 store.

Why Can't I Feel Feelings?

I couldn't help myself.

After taking Netflix's advice and watching Equilibrium, I loved it!

In a nutshell, it's about a world of emotionless people who are all doped up on serum that numbs feelings, as prescribed by law by the government. The serum is the worlds answer to war since with no emotion, one cannot create conflict. Christian Bale plays a widowed "cop" type character who stops taking his meds and starts to feel again, leaving him to question what he does and why things are the way they are. It's a pretty cool flick. Plus anyones bad acting is easily masked by the fact that they are meant to be emotionless. One of my favorite scenes from the movie is an awesome fight scene between Christian Bale and a squad of the more normal cops(Christian Bales character is more of a super cop with training in shot prediction so he can avoid the most likely areas a bullet would travel in a shoot out, pretty sweet). They found out he's been hoarding a dog which is against regulation. The big fight scene ends with Bale finishing off the last of the officers with a dramatic pose and pause, then he bends down to grab something...

After seeing this I immediately drew a crude sketch of what is now my Equilibrium tribute art to this scene. I love the idea of this skilled gun fighter killing over a dozen men for this puppy's and his protection. A cool relationship between a killer and an innocent being.

I hope you enjoy my rendition of these two in my Society6 shop.

What is Goo Aush?

I have seen this word before. I have been reading it for years, never once have I heard it said by a person. I think artists avoid saying it to avoid awkwardness but one of them did.

This introduction to illustration video has the talented Alison Woodward illustrating some animals in bottles and gives it some nice highlights using GWOSH at the end.

I was blown away. Forever I thought it was "gauch" or "goush" or just something non-audible. Anyway, I looked it up and it is pronounced "goo-aush" but when said fast enough sounds exactly like "gwosh".

Maybe I can finally buy it in confidence.

The Darth Phone

I recently added phone and laptop covers to my Darth Face art print!

You would look totally cool by repping the Empire on your phone.... you'd look like a bad ass.

The "R" stands for REBEL-SCUM!

Fireball Bunny!

Here is a poster I made that didn't make it past this stage.... life of a graphic artist. Although, I did happen to film the whole process for anyone interested in the process. Enjoy

The song is also a kick ass mix by Wik-it the Instigator from his Tarantino mash-up album.

Are Saturday Mornings What They Used To Be?

Of course not! That's why the good people at Ltd. Gallery in Seattle made this wonderful gallery to remind us that we can't roll out of bed with our blankey anymore and snap crackle and pop while we watch Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Here's the flyer, video of my piece after the flyer!

Society6 iPhone Templates

I always hated the guessing when uploading art for a phone case on Society6. Recently, I was able to make this rough template for iPhone cases.

This PDF file should be used as a reference only to see what sections of the art will be cut off, by giving examples with three iPhone shapes. Also, the file size is the correct dimensions for phone submissions, so just place your art and save it! Free for anyone who could get some use out of it.

Corey Matthews is Guilty

Bad news if you've ever owned a black backpack.

The public photo investigation has gotten a little out of hand with the bomb in Boston. The news shows a photo of a black backpack in pieces and suddenly there are photos with red circles on them all over the internet.

Anyway, I think it was the old guy.

I also found this Fahrenheit 451 ending to be amusing.

You're Beautiful

Dove did a really cool experiment recently.

They asked women to describe themselves to an FBI sketch artist. Most of their answers to his questions of appearance were negative and unflattering.

The 2nd part of the experiment was having them interact with a stranger for a bit, and then having that same stranger describe them to the same sketch artist.

The results are pretty interesting.

Love the way you look ladies..... we all do.

Ship My Pants

I think advertising would be a good field for me. I can really appreciate a beautiful idea when I see it and this commercial is just my kind of humor.

This ad may single handedly save the future of Kmart.

Did Roger Ebert Die in Vain?

Of course not. Roger Ebert is an American treasure giving years of great movie reviews even after his life changing surgery. But I will say, somethings are hard to forgive...

El Camino Lamar

C'mon Kendrick!

Kendrick Lamar's 2012 Album "Good Kid, M.A.A.D City"

The Black Keys 2011 Album "El Camino"

I think it is safe to assume that if someone releases an album cover with a profile of a shitty van, you should wait a little longer than 10 months to do the same.

MINT Condition

Still more bullets to add to this guy in preparation for the upcoming comic themed gallery in March.

I am a part of Ltd. Galleries March show which takes place during the Emerald City Comicon. The show is entitled MINT Condition and stretches the entire month of March. I chose to do Deadpool because there isn't anyone as much of a smart-ass as he is, which you have to respect. Plus what other mercenary would look as good made entirely out of empty shell casings?

More photos to come after his completion, but I will keep it very limited so you can still be surprised at the actual gallery. The flyer for the show is below.

I hope you're a nerd with a wallet, so you can pick up this merc with a mouth.

Does Dethklok Represent the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse?

Little did the world know that The Darkness "Four Horsemen" comic book was actually a look into the future, of metal band Dethklok.

The resemblance is uncanny to the four horsemen of the apocalypse. I'd say its about 20 years later, Toki has turned gray and both he and Murderface have added goatees to their facial hair. Pickels has combed out his dredlocks and Nathan has been overcome by the Darkness.

They also ride motorcycles and kill people..... but I think they did that before. The original four horsemen are said to ride on white, red, pale, and black horses, very appropriate for their hair colors and/or pale skin.
