Howe Do You Do?

Available at Metro Park
My Howe designs are finally available, which means I can post them publicly. I've only found a couple so far, but there are plenty more coming. I started designing at Howe in October 2011 and left 5 months later.

This first one is a location tee for The Ranch, a surf spot in Santa Barbara. One of my first designs for the company.

This second one was actually one of my later designs. I was asked to create 4-5 geometrical designs to pitch to Pac Sun. This one was the winner. I designed all four pitches in about 10 minutes, really simple stuff. One ended up looking far too much like the Atari logo.

I'll post more when I see them.

Judd Apa-NO

'Trifecta'
Last week I was informed that the Judd Apatow tribute gallery has been cancelled. Apparently Universal wasn't too keen on the gallery involving works based on movies they owned. I am a bit disappointed since this would have been my first gallery show, but am also excited to have more time to work on my third piece that was meant for the show. The second one I completed, can be seen in the post prior to this one. The first painting I completed for the show is pictured here; my take on the cross-joint from Pineapple Express.

The third isn't quite done yet. It is about 2/3 complete but will probably go back down to 1/3 complete soon since I now have all the time in the world to add all of the details I wanted originally.

Another bright side to this cancellation is that, although Universal showed no interest, the man himself, Judd Apatow, was very interested in the show as well as the artworks. This doesn't mean that the show is back on, but wouldn't it be nice if he was interested in a painting or two for himself?

If not, I will have them all available from my shop in the near future. Keep an eye out.

Two Down...

...one to go.

I have completed my second piece for the Kato Gallery's Tribute to Apatow.

This one is charcoal on wood.

I worked on most of this while I watched Step Brothers with commentary on. Maybe the best musical commentary ever made for a DVD.

The first piece I made for the gallery....I'll post that soon.
