Put your money where your show is

I love The Office. Well actually, I loved The Office. I has seemed to make a slight decline in structure in it's new season. Especially after it birthed it's twin son named Parks and Recreation. It's hard not to notice the striking similarities between the character structure of both shows, even though P&R has about half as many. Lets start with the obvious one.

The stubborn boss who thinks they are always right with their decisions, and is usually saved from embarrassment by a likable employee. Leslie Knot and Michael Scott, hey it even rhymes.

The lovable everyman with a big nose and a childish haircut who you can't help but agree with on every issue he brings up. He is just so gosh darn lovable and always seems to have good ideas. Mark Brendanawicz and Jim Halpert. Who both, I might add, have inter office relationships with the cute and lovable female counterpart to their personalities.....

*Repeat the previous paragraph pertaining to a female.

The rest of the cast doesn't have as extreme similarities as these three, but they are still there nonetheless.

 The lovable fat guy

The young newby

The Indian (Ha! I had to put it)

When noting these similarities I realize how unique some characters in The Office are like Dwight and Meredith. We all know The Office wasn't an original show to begin with, but that doesn't make it ok to make yet another "mocumentary" show on the same network. At least when the American Office started, some extra work was done translating it from British to English.
