STFU Donny!

I am very proud of my new drawing of the three main characters from The Big Lebowski including Donny, Walter, and the Dude, all drawn as In-N-Out food items!

I was cracking up while watching the scene in The Big Lebowski where Donny keeps trying to get the group to go to In-N-Out since deep down I am trying to get everyone around me to take me to that golden arrow of goodness. I figured what a better way to represent Donny's struggle than making each character in that scene into items off the In-N-Out menu.
I get a kick out of redoing company logos for my own enjoyment and couldn't miss this opportunity of turning the In-N-Out logo into the words "Shut the fuck up Donny!" I've also listed the logo by itself if you're into it!

Put them together and you've got yourself a kick ass t-shirt or sticker, now available!

You may have also noticed that I have been using RedBubble a lot more than I have in the past. Once I tried their way of uploading art into my shop, I was sold. Society6 has made it a chore to get your designs uploaded and implemented across multiple products. Not only that but their search tool helps you find nothing you're looking for except for the items they are pushing constantly. RedBubble has shown to be a more accepting community who searches for art and follows through in ordering it. S6 has proven over and over that it's just too cool for school and too cool for light hearted joke designs. By all means, if your art is geometric buffalo photographs collaged over pictures of galaxies with a female figure in negative space, then Society6 will be your home away from home. For me, I'll stick with RB from now on(plus they offer stickers! No brainer).

"Cup O Pizza"
I'll let Navin R. Johnson, aka The Jerk, describe this drawing,

Day 9 - The Puke of the Dead

It may not be alcohol oriented, but this puke is just as unwanted.... by Ash that is.

Meet Ash of The Evil Dead, getting puked on by his girlfriend. Possessed by a demon, her black vomit is sure to leave a stain.

I don't think they're together anymore.

This marks day 9 of my barf a day squares for April. Scroll through my posts or my Instagram to see more I've drawn.

Who should puke next?

RIP TMNT

My April 2014 mixed media piece for the 3rd annual MINT Condition Gallery at Ltd. Gallery in Seattle, WA.

I found this killer remix of the classic TMNT arcade game for the background music, created by Bankai.

ENJOY.

"RIP TMNT" - Mixed Media by Mike Oncley 2014.

Day 8 - Ralphateer

Don't drink and drive? No problem.

Drink and rocket.

Looks like our good buddy the Rocketeer had a few too many martinis.

At least he's got clean filtered vomit.

I use Micron 08 for the lines and Tombow N75 to shade

Day 5 - Barf Algar

We all wanted to see it happen and it just never did.

Phil got in the car ready to hurl and he never blew chunks.

"If you're gonna spew..... spew in this"

Introducing, Barf Algar, the ever ready supporter of those who may be on the verge of becoming sick. Although prepared, his efforts may be lost on his friends.

Man Math

I just finished watching Unicorn City, great flick.

I couldn't help but notice a slight resemblance as the movie started, that's when I realized....

Doug Benson plus Ryan Gosling equals Devin McGinn.

McGinn plays the antagonist Voss in Unicorn City and his dopey eyes, hunky scruff and calm demeanor can only be the result of a Benson/Gosling love child.

Interesting fact: He get's his hunky scruff from Doug.

All looks aside, a recommend the movie to anyone who is into video games and board games. It also shows a very true point about doing what you love and how diving head first into something can be scary yet rewarding.

Fritz and the Tantrums

Coming next month is the new CATZ art show at Ltd. Gallery in Capital Hill, Seattle!

I, along with many other artists, will be presenting original pop culture art, all including cats. I myself am a dog person, but who could resist putting these grumpy little fuzz balls into their artwork?

The Nine Lives of Fritz the Cat

When I chose my piece I decided to go with an older reference but felt this would be a fun character to work with. I chose to use Fritz the Cat as my subject, "A hypocritical swinging college student cat (who) raises hell in a satiric vision of various elements on the 1960's".  His second film came out in 1972 and was titled The Nine Lives of Fritz the Cat (he was originally a comic strip but I won't get into that). The entire film revolves around him going through his nine lives and you join him while he experiences these nine alternate realities. Throughout these escapades he is constantly having sex and doing drugs, living in the 60's version of "YOLO" to the fullest extent. He's a young college kid in the late 1960's with a baby Mama, a baby to go with her, and no job. What else would a jobless college kid want to do all day besides melt their brains and have sex (did we not learn anything from Wolf of Wall St.?)?  That is why I chose to depict four variations of Fritz with him using four different drugs, cocaine, pot, alcohol and LSD.

I wouldn't want to spoil it all before the gallery opening on February 1st, but I hope you enjoy my preview photos!

...and as a bonus, here is the full LSD Fritz

Thanks! Be sure to check out all the new designs that have been added into my SOCIETY6 shop!

Why Dead Snow is One of the Greatest Horror Films of our Time.

I was a little reluctant to watch Dead Snow. Netflix had been shoving it into a couple of my suggestion lists with only a movie poster thumbnail and a brief description to to convince me. Looking at this poster, I anticipated the movie being a poorly written film by some independent film makers who received a small chunk of change to make a bloody zombie flick. The poster felt too comical and shoved the idea of "hey we like Evil Dead and you do too" down your throat. Lucky for me, I decided to hit play anyway and never looked back.

Here are my top 7 reasons why Dead Snow is an amazing horror film:

Did Stan Lee Make an X-Men Film in 1973?

What do you get when you cross 1970's blaxploitation films and Stan Lee? MAGNEGRO!

I let my love of blaxploitation films and superheroes fly with this newest art piece. If I were a producer I would make this movie a reality, but for now we just have to get by with the poster alone.

Here is Magnegro, our magnetic protagonist who's family has been run down by the man. Watch as he uses his abilities of controlling metal to seek revenge on the men who did him wrong. This time, opposites kick ass.

Why Can't I Feel Feelings?

I couldn't help myself.

After taking Netflix's advice and watching Equilibrium, I loved it!

In a nutshell, it's about a world of emotionless people who are all doped up on serum that numbs feelings, as prescribed by law by the government. The serum is the worlds answer to war since with no emotion, one cannot create conflict. Christian Bale plays a widowed "cop" type character who stops taking his meds and starts to feel again, leaving him to question what he does and why things are the way they are. It's a pretty cool flick. Plus anyones bad acting is easily masked by the fact that they are meant to be emotionless. One of my favorite scenes from the movie is an awesome fight scene between Christian Bale and a squad of the more normal cops(Christian Bales character is more of a super cop with training in shot prediction so he can avoid the most likely areas a bullet would travel in a shoot out, pretty sweet). They found out he's been hoarding a dog which is against regulation. The big fight scene ends with Bale finishing off the last of the officers with a dramatic pose and pause, then he bends down to grab something...

After seeing this I immediately drew a crude sketch of what is now my Equilibrium tribute art to this scene. I love the idea of this skilled gun fighter killing over a dozen men for this puppy's and his protection. A cool relationship between a killer and an innocent being.

I hope you enjoy my rendition of these two in my Society6 shop.

Over The Line 2013 - Ltd Art Gallery

Come be a part of this awesome gallery, Over The Line, a tribute to films of the Coen Brothers. I will be there on the 7th to shmooz and drink free booze and basically anything else with two "o's" and a "Z". I have two pieces in the show and I actually have prints this time! I learned my lesson last time.
