RAW Natural Born Artists - ENVISION

I will be showcasing at this years RAW:OC arts show entitle ENVISION on January 24th.

Over the 5 years I spent living in Seattle I began to experiment with only using red, blue, white, and sometimes black paint. All of these paintings were created after my local Seattle art gallery shut its doors for good meaning that this January event will be the FIRST time I showcase this series of paintings in front of real live humans! I have shown some of these pieces on my website before but am very excited to give everyone the opportunity to see these up close and personal. I will be selling all of these paintings at my booth including some newer ones.

Tickets to the event are $22 and you get so much more than an art show. There will be live music, dance performances, live painting and a fashion show to end the night!

As a bonus to everyone who buys a ticket from me, you will be automatically entered to WIN an original art piece. A name will be drawn at random on the night of the event so you can go home with your new art! Your ticket must be purchased using the link below to be entered.

Be sure to add "Mike Oncley" as your "artist" when you purchase your ticket.

Good Fat

Whether you're pregnant or just rocking a Dad Bod, have I got a drawing for you!

After pondering about the "good fat" that hides in an avocado, I thought about the good fat that women become when they are having a baby! Maybe all avocados are pregnant..... it is a seed after all.

As a change for Stupid Little Squares, I wanted to do this in COLOR! It just pops so much better on a t-shirt as a reminder for pregnant women to tell the public, I'm good fat! Hell, even if you're just comfortable with your curvy body, it's good fat!

So celebrate your body and pick up a print or a shirt from my Stupid Little Squares S6 store.

Dandy

One of my favorite paintings of mine is now on Society6!

What do monsters do on their day off? Why not take a break from it all and make a wish or two?

Here is my wish-making terror, Dandy! Probably wishing for more dirty children to devour. Dandy loves the smell of children who haven't taken baths. It hunts down and grabs those children, cleans off their filth by dragging them through his back spikes and then swallows them whole! Children beware! Luckily it's his day off today and he's got some wishes to make.

Don't forget, Dandy hate's seeing himself, so ward him off with this SICK shirt. Just keep it clean.

It's All Over.... Shirts

I've been really having a fun time arranging my art work to be used on Society6's new all-over print t-shirts!

Not all of my artwork can translate into an all-over shirt, but if you see something you think SHOULD be a shirt, let me know!

Also, just a reminder, Pizza Party Boxes are still available in my Etsy shop while supplies last!

Virgin Territory

The title of this post not only refers to the new MTV show entitled "Virgin Territory", but also to me! My "Abiculture" design has made it on to television, unsolicited, for the first time!

This shirt was distributed through the non-profit Music Saves Lives at past Warped Tours and various blood drives; now it's made it's way onto one of Mikaela's multiple crushes on the show, Ashton.

If you think you can pull off the shirt better than Ashton, or if you just want to be a virgin magnet like this stud, the updated version of the t-shirt is available online at Society6.

Get yours before Lincoln's ghost sues me for misrepresentation.

Oh, and did I mention it gets the Steve Aoki unofficial seal of approval as well?

Are LimoLand and Mike Oncley a Match Made in The Stars?

You tell me.

Voting had opened for my patterned pisces shirt for the Talenthouse LimoLand contest. Click through and hit vote, it's that easy!

I am a pisces and never understood why these two fish were tied together. I figured they must be getting punished. So this is my "ball and chain" pisces design.

The North Wars

With a $7 price difference, PLUS a guarantee that my shirt will attract waves of the opposite sex, how could you not buy it? HOW?

...plus their style is called "ASEY". To 'one-up' them I am now naming my style "BALZY".

Howe Do You Do?

Available at Metro Park
My Howe designs are finally available, which means I can post them publicly. I've only found a couple so far, but there are plenty more coming. I started designing at Howe in October 2011 and left 5 months later.

This first one is a location tee for The Ranch, a surf spot in Santa Barbara. One of my first designs for the company.

This second one was actually one of my later designs. I was asked to create 4-5 geometrical designs to pitch to Pac Sun. This one was the winner. I designed all four pitches in about 10 minutes, really simple stuff. One ended up looking far too much like the Atari logo.

I'll post more when I see them.

Agenda

This is my first business convention. Don't let the hip brands and bright colors fool you. If you aren't a retail buyer then there is pretty much nothing to do at Agenda besides eat and drink.

I'm on my 18th lap around the place.

Dirty Designs

Respect to the Dirty Heads for a rad t-shirt design,
respect that was slightly dented after passing Invader Zim, Fred and ICP shirts to catch a glimpse of this one at Hot Topic.

Snuggy.... Now with Small Pox

Ok, so as the story goes, settlers come, discover America for the 2nd time, slaughter a bunch of natives, but what I want to know is how on earth did John Smith successfully deliver smallpox infested blankets to these people? Wouldn't the white guy that dropped them off get smallpox? Would he already be in some sort of stage 1 smallpox that is easily noticed by the Indian? Wouldn't he act suspicious in some ways? I could imagine,

"Hey I have a gift for you!"
"Sweet, what is it?"
"Nice warm new handmade blankets!"
"Rad, I'm like so cold at night."
"Yea no prob bud."
"Cool... well, where are they?"
"Oh just on the end of this rope, a half-mile away"
"Oh, a bit odd, but sure. Ill just pull it i--"
"No no no no!"
"What"
"Lemme just, uh, just let me get to a good distance."
"Distance?"
"Yea... uh.... because you're gonna be soooo surprised. I just want to give you enough room"
"....alright"
"Yea so just enjoy. Be sure to stay warm tonight in those. Roll around in them and stuff."
[Captain Joe Shmo walks away]
"What a strange person. But I sure can't wait to get me some blanket action!"

I would be a little weary of those blankets from the first smallpoxy "achoo" coming off the guy (they sneeze right?)

Maybe they Just made them super fashionable and everybody went nuts for them regardless.
"This blanket makes me itch..... but it goes perfect with my buffalo skin leg warmers!"

Steampunk

So I guess the movies I like have a name. While browsing Etsy for motorcycle goggles I noticed a large amount of "steampunk" accessories. I figured it was a brand or a certain merchant on the site. Digging deeper I realized that it was the actual style of the glasses. For those of you like me, who have never heard of "steampunk" before, I'm sure you've seen it before.

New Glasses

I've got to give it up to Malcolm X

I had to go bigger since I'm not suave enough to pull off the smaller lenses, and since my head is noticeably large.
